Volunteer Information

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with BrainIACS! Below is a description of current volunteer roles and a volunteer interest form. We look forward to hearing from you!

VOLUNTEER ROLES:

Bilingual Community Support Volunteers

  • Welcome families and help them feel comfortable 

  • Assist with non-clinical communication (directions, logistics, introductions) 

  • Help families navigate stations, handouts, and activities 

  • Clarify general educational concepts already presented by clinicians (not individualized advice) 

Small Group Facilitators

  • Help facilitate group discussions during education sessions 

  • Assist in summarizing content already delivered by physicians 

  • Encourage questions and help families direct questions to clinicians 

  • Support interactive activities (Q&A cards, scenario discussions, visuals) 

Education Materials & Support

  • Help review Spanish-language handouts for clarity and cultural appropriateness 

  • Assist families in understanding written educational materials 

  • Walk families through visuals, diagrams, or take-home resources 

Community Outreach  & Engagement Assistants

  • Support check-in, surveys, and feedback collection 

  • Assist with follow-up resource sharing 

  • Help connect families to community organizations, not medical services
