Absence Seizure

A brief seizure involving sudden, brief lapses in consciousness, often mistaken for daydreaming

May cause your child to drop things or fall

How to help:

  • Speak gently and reassure your child that they are safe

  • Allow them to rest or sleep if they need to Stay with them until they are fully oriented to person, place, and time

  • Do not offer food or drink until your child is fully awake and alert
